Kill spam, not conversions
Hey Demo,
Most forms don't need a CAPTCHA. The smartest approach to spam protection uses layers: let legitimate users pass through undetected while only filtering when actual risk exists.
Start with Formshield. It silently catches low-effort spam without disrupting the user experience.
For higher-risk situations, selectively add hCaptcha or reCAPTCHA — such as when your contact form has a blank referrer or when traffic comes from regions known for bot activity.
If you're using reCAPTCHA v3, remember to fine-tune your thresholds and review your logs. Setting the score cutoff too aggressively can block genuine leads.
This combination is sufficient for most forms: one passive filter and one targeted challenge. It's simple, effective, and user-friendly.
